Well then you should specify... Biblically or historically? Don't assume the bible is an actual account of history.
What is the biblical answer?
.
this week the focus of my byzantium studies is the iconophile/iconoclast quarrel, when people could be bashed etc for having the wrong belief.. one of the things i have to do is discuss the arguements used by each side, and i was intrigued (amused) by an argument used by st.john of damascus.. he asks the question: " who first made images?".
what's your answer?.
Well then you should specify... Biblically or historically? Don't assume the bible is an actual account of history.

i spoke with some one that recommends i step lightly for he said the tower may use there attorneys to attack me recommend to my wife to leave me (spiritual endangerment) and use their attorney's to then help her get complete custody of the kids.
has anyone heard of these guys doing this?
i don't doubt this guy former elder and bethelite and all, just wondering if any one here has experienced this or knows of this happening?
Is your marriage built on more than mutual beliefs? It damn well should be. Are you worth staying with despite differing beliefs? If your marriage is so paper thin that without shared beliefs it's not worth fighting for, then.... It's not worth fighting for. I say that because obviously if you're talking this way you're not very optimistic.
If you're DFed for apostasy and you're very aggressive in your anti-WT stance, then yes she will be reminded that she can leave you, her relationship with jah is more important. If that's not the case, you're just not interested in the religion anymore and are still a good husband, the elders would be stupid to even bring it up with you.
I'm pretty certain that if the elders floated that idea by my wife, she'd lose it on them. You have to get her on your side, bro. Even if she disagrees with you, she needs to be just as interested as you are in your marriage being a success. If not, what's the damn point? Even if your kids are raised by her to be JWs, they are still more likely to turn out to be Atheists.
this is how i imagine it can work: the baptized jw first gets the elders to acknowledge in written form that his previous baptism was in fact null and void.
* then later, coming close to baptism - preferably, the day of rebaptism - he changes his mind about being rebaptized (maybe he says no or remains silent when the questions are being asked, with this being video recorded).
so legally, he never was a legitimately baptized jw and therefore should not be anounced as "bro.
All the elders have to do is claim that by your actions after you were baptized show that you wished to be known as a JW. If they like they can do the same thing they do to unbapped pubs, just say they are no longer recognized as a JW. Same shun gun, different bullets.
despite knowing ttatt recently and trying my very best not to absorb the fds-supplied "knowledge" any further, i could not help but feel inadequate again during today's meeting.
strange, right?
yet, normal.
It's just a social club for most. A social club that beats you down and makes you feel shitty so you'll do more work for free.
Ummm.. No. If I did I would demand from him an explanation for all the shitty things his book says he did and is going to do, and why he refuses to do anything good for anyone ever. If he is real, he's an asshole who needs to be ignored.
so after the annual meeting, on sunday, the elders want to talk with my family.
i do not like this one bit.
perhaps i am being exposed.
It's just a shep call buddy, don't sweat. Just smile and nod, smile and nod. Don't act like there's a problem in the world, don't argue, don't disagree about anything. It will all be over in less than an hour. Afterwards the elders will leave you alone for a while, they can say they've made an effort with you and move on.
my gf has the part "why are there so many religions".... i need to place some ttatt seeds very subtly... i don't care if they go right above most jw's heads... .
any ideas?.
.
Yes reference please
its been a tough 6 months for my jw hubby and myself.
next saturday is our anniversary.
i wasn't sure we would make it with the turbulance of the last 6 months.
Sounds like a great chance to show him the 'cross' reference in the reasoning book. it references the Imperial Bible Dictionary dishonestly. Here is a link to the real page it claims to quote.
http://archive.org/stream/theimperialbible01unknuoft#page/376/mode/1up
With the entire roman rule being incredibly well documented, it's amazing they've gotten away with saying thT Romans didn't kill people on crosses for this long.
Good luck
latest news from a source (missionary in foreign land):.
no more missionary homes anywhere in the world.. all missionaries presently in missionary homes must vacate.
must get housing on your own / from the locals.. circuit and district overseers have moved into many of these former missionary homes.. reasons: liability, cost savings, real estate to be sold or used for other purposes.. needless to say, many of these longtime servants are very unsettled.
So how do we find out if there is any truth to this?
if it became official, a good question to our JWs would be; 'if we are pulling all of our missionaries out, how can the good news be preached to all the inhabited earth?'
no doubt some will immediately think the great trib is here.. But after that wears off, they'll have to wonder.
i have recently joined the site.
i was just appointed an elder this summer.
i started discovering the ttatt (the truth about the truth) last year after putting a few things together myself concerning the leadership and then doing some research online.. i really enjoyed jwfacts.com, jwsurvey, and others.
Another hounder sees the light! Congrats. Looking forward to hearing some juicy inside info
